The Reconstruction of the Galactic System of the XX Planets after the Apocalyptic Interplanetary War

In the Galaxy of the XX Planets (Twenty Planets), there was a reboot of the entire galactic system about 500 years before the events depicted in "Rex in Space," the first volume of the XX Planets Saga space opera. After a total and apocalyptic war (known as the War of the Wealthy), in which even the ancestors of the Rex lineage, the Reys, were involved - specifically Rex's great-grandfather Kaiser Rey and his grandfather King Rey - the planetary systems decided to avert future destructive wars and agreed upon the complex system of the Twenty Planets, which we will discuss in more detail soon.

The planets were left in pieces after the total and senseless war, some literally. Forces, skills, and resources were united, and substitute planets were identified for those destroyed, or ingenious reconstruction and terraforming works were attempted to remedy the situation. All of this led to the formation of a newfound sense of belonging and collaboration, based on the utility and convenience of mutual exchange and galactic integration. King Rey, as previously mentioned, Rex's grandfather, played an active part in this: his non-conformism and desire to go beyond rigid, pyramid-like planetary governance systems that had fossilized for centuries played a significant role in shaping the system of the XX Planets. These events are recounted in an unpublished prequel to "Rex in Space."

In the new galactic arrangement, they also sought to follow models of beauty in the architecture of the Great Reconstruction. Beauty is for others, which is why it is made publicly accessible as much as possible.

Public spaces on the planets, when feasible and permitted by the climate or magnetic fields, are always designed for socializing, meeting, and often even conspiring... Buildings, regenerated natural environments, and even the appearance of some planets therefore pursue a sense of wonder, derived from the zeitgeist of explicit non-belligerence based on multiplicity and diversity that is not meant to be homogenized but tolerated. The wounds suffered by each society took centuries to heal, and various ways were invented to create a unified formal Galactic Community.

However, many of these new customs, specific to each planet, will be discussed later. Alongside the sense of beauty in places and planets, culture was also promoted and extended as much as possible. One of the twenty planets, Prik, was designated for the education of the new planetary and galactic ruling classes. It became a true planet of education for all. Rex also had to go to Prik to receive his education, along with his brothers and sister. For those who couldn't afford to stay on the education planet, the planetary embassies of Prik on each of the other 19 planets were always active in training as many citizens as possible.

However, in the philosophy of the XX Planets, erudition risks being sterile if it doesn't pass on, if it doesn't leave tangible marks. What remains of you when you die? What has knowledge served you for, other than defending yourself from the complex world? Resources and talents are sadly wasted if not preserved.

Rex's planet, Kliustra, has this purpose: to preserve the Memory of everything. It is a database planet, and the access keys are passed down from generation to generation within the Rey lineage and related families. The sore spot, the weakness, in the system of the XX Planets is the concept of citizenship, which is not extended to everyone, especially those who are not descendants of the survivors of the apocalyptic War of the Wealthy. In other words, while attempting to compensate for the loss, new disparities were created in the XX Planets, which, by the time of Rex Rey, posed a significant problem: new colonizations, new post-war hybrid societies, and more...

In summary and conclusion: Beauty for the inhabitants of the XX Planets, and Culture for the citizens. These are the lights of the Great Reconstruction that necessarily cast many shadows...
